I'm off again!

Just a quick post before I dash off to Hong Kong for engagement celebrations - WOOHOO! and then straight on back to Beijing for business (BOO!)

Ok... what's the update.

Today was an "Air Raid" pretend evacuation. The government does this once a year, and I was so lucky to be exposed to one so soon! OMG its soooooooo stupid.

Sorry to all those Taiwanese out there.

But basically, what happens is that for 30mins no one is allowed out of their buildings or out on the street. People driving in cars or passengers in buses have to park on the side of the street, or completely evacuate the street, and sit in their vehicles for half an hour until its finished. If you disobey, the cops on the street hussle you into a bank or the nearest building.

LOLOLOL.

And the purpose of this?

In case China tries to invade or something.

*DIES*

Oh c'mon losers you ARE China.... get over yourselves!

This is the main street in the financial district where I work - completely empty.

Sad, aint it...

MOVING ON.

I have some VERY GOOD NEWS...

I ended up cooking soba anyway on the weekend... and.... SUCCESS!!!!

I'm a fucking BRILLIANT WIFE!

YES!!!

See......??

Miso soup with pipis :) Beef with some vege thing I found in the supermarket:
Teriyaki beef marinade:
Green soba noodles:
Prawn and salmon sashimi (ok i didnt make this one): And our favourite bikkies from Aunt Stellas!

It was so delicious and tasty and tummy-rubbing that even the doggies were so full from looking at it....

Yep, I'm the greatest mummy too :)

**Claps for Gracie**

And new toenails too...!!

Today was also my last lunch with work people for the next few weeks, cos ill be off jetsetting from tomorrow...

Well, I need a Jack replacement, dont I...?

I'm already completely booked out with meetings for the whole of next week in Beijing, but I will sneak some time in to blog about the trip to HK in between.

And anything else interesting that happens in Beijing... if I even get a second to breathe...

Where the normal people shop...

Ooooops I forgot to mention that my colleagues took me to this really cool place to shop the other day! It almost didnt happen, cos we had to stay back really late at work, but we decided to go anyway.

Here is Betty (Office Manager), Rebecca (Online Producer), and Angela (Paralegal/In-house Translater) on the way in the cab:

We had local plebby food first so we would have plenty of energy to shop! Preparation is KEY.

The place was full of trendy uni students and it was packed like a meatmarket, but I loved it! There was so much cool stuff... I cant believe noone introduced this place to me earlier:

Then something really bad happened. Someone got a knife and cut into Rebecca's bag and stole her wallet when we were all squashed up in the street. Poor thing... she spent half an hour on the phone to her bank back in the States cancelling all her cards:

She had no money left so we had to lend her for the rest of the night. But she was really good about it and funny too (see above) LOL. She is a late night radio DJ on a trendy radio station and I was listening to it at 2am and she was talking about how she lost her bag and everything, and thanked all of us on air for giving her money so she could continue shopping!

Anyway, naturally I used her call-making opportunity to buy out everything in the store HAHAHA:

Of course, we had to eat again at the end, as we had depleted all our energy from shopping.

I got home past 1am and Froggie was really sad by himself all night, I think :(

But look at all the stuff I got! I found this place that sells Bath & Body Works stuff (loooooooves) and got all these products and they smell GREAAAAT! I also got lots of new clothes for much cheaper than those dumb labels I usually buy:

Woohoo! And really cute accessories too:

And I didnt forget Froggie.

SEE?

He really liked it.

SEE??

I totally DID NOT make him do that...

Just a typical Saturday...

It started with Take Two of leash-walking lessons with the kids. There was a bit of tangle and upset in the beginning...

But they eventually got the hang of it. Good job Froggie!

We left them at the groomers while we went for lunch...

Btw, this is a very small lunch for us:
My dessert...

That Froggie has to finish, as usual.

HE LOVES IT.

Then we went shopping and came back to pick up the kids, all groomed and clean.

Check out the MASSIVE work-related zit on my cheek! Its like the size of a small island. **DIES DIES DIES**

Then we went to the Lion King. I've seen it before, but thanks to the Taiwan Futures Exchange (who give us presents all the time), we got 2nd row tickets!

Here we are right at the front. It was in a stadium so the venue was massive! Check out all the plebs way down the back. LOSERS!

I was gonna make soba this week - REMEMBER?? But for some reason, Froggie begged me not to cook anymore.... hmmm....

So we ended up eating steak and ribs at Outback Steakhouse (his choice, obviously). Look how happy he is!

Oh, bless him...

During dessert, I was suddenly hit with a realisation that I have a picture of me eating the exact same Chocolate Triple Thunder Brownie Ice-cream concoction in Sydney.

And I found the pic! The first one is of me at the Outback in Sydney, the second in Taipei :)

HAHAHA... yep, nothing much changes. I'm still a pig and an alcho...!! MUAHAHAHAHA

Then NEXT we went to Toys R Us to buy some stupid remote toy car that Froggie was convinced the kids would like...

I was more interested in hugging a bear:

WOW check out that huge bum! Outrageous! I'm so boombastic LOL.

Anyway, he got his dumb car.

And I found a disney store and bought a bed for the kids! THEY LOOOOOVED IT :)

And a Snow White blankie for me...

When we got home, Froggie spent an hour putting the parts together for the car (yes, it was all in PARTS like WFT its not IKEA). Then at the end, proud of his achievement - he started driving it around.

The kids were terrified of it!! They were running away and hiding behind a wall... Chloe especially. Watch the video below:

MORAL OF THE STORY: Frogs are dumb.

Applause!!!

Thank you *bows*

OMG... this is terrible!

http://media.smh.com.au/?rid=40702&category=Weird%20Week

I was having a mini heart attack while watching it...

Last week, we were at the vet and a lady came in with her husband and her dog wrapped in a blanket. She was bawling her eyes out and the dog was already dead I think, he had his tongue hanging limply from his mouth on one side, and his eyes were wide open not blinking. I think he choked on something and it got caught in his throat - it was so terrifying!

Last week, Chloe was choking on a treat and she started convulsing and her head was jerking back and I started screaming hysterically but thank god Froggie got it out of her throat.

To all those poochie owners out there - beware the choke!

Dear me....

On a lighter note, here are some pics from the Chanel Show in Taipei last week. I am pimping off my colleagues pics here cos she had an invite... but she said she was the only one there that night that took a LV bag, cos she didnt have a Chanel!

If I had known I woulda given her mine to borrow, and she would have been the only one at the show with that bag! Haha... I know cos there are only 2 in Taiwan and I have one of them, and a friend that visited from HK bought the other one!!
