... and Tokyo

Finally, we arrive in Tokyo and are reunited with important ppl like Mr Tamaru, Naoko & Kyoko (my muso friends from Sydney who moved back to Japan).

I love Kyoko's daughter Soraka so much! She was super sweet and so lovely ~~ really hope we can have a girl :)

Stayed at a club room with a nice view of Tokyo Bay:

The food highlights - 1) the sukiyaki place Rie's dad took us to:

2) the famous kobe beef restaurant in Ginza:

OMFG divine. I think the meal cost like AUD$600+ but it was totally worth it. I want seconds, I'm feeling hungers just looking at it...

We were happy:

3) the famous sushi place in the fish market:

Damn, how can they do tuna so good?? From L-R: fatty seared tuna, lean tuna, half-fatty tuna, fatty tuna. My fave was the fatty seared. I just kept ordering more and more.... ahhhhh. YUMMERS!!!

Hmmm... what else? Loved picwhoring:

Hello Kitty baked goodies with different fillings:

... and the concert was a success!!! Great work girls - I was right at the front taking notes for them and handing out flowers :)

Click here to see all the pics on FB and dont forget to read the Dress Me Pretty blog! I've been trying to update it more, but its hard to keep 2 blogs, and content sometimes overlaps. Was deciding whether to shut this blog down before, but I'm not quite ready to do that yet.

Anyway, just as an aside I'm so obsessed with the iPhone photoshop app atm heehee:

YAR!!! Noodle has a plait wooot!

Finally... a little on my trip to Japan

I love Japan. It was my 3rd trip there with Rie, but she got unexpectedly sick the week that we were meant to travel together to Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima & Hakone (which later got changed to Atami). It was really sad, but I had a good time travelling with Emily, another cellist who has the same name and star sign as my sister!

Anyway, I have more than 1000 pics from this whirlwind trip, and I am in no mood to upload them all, or write up a detailed description of everything that happened. Let me just share some of my favorite moments from the beautiful cities I went to.

Kyoto, the place where we stayed the longest. Rie's dad booked a wonderful hotel for us with a fab fab view, we discovered all the rich culture, palaces, discovered little restaurants and bars, I practised my photography and got to be a geisha!! :D

Osaka, the city we stayed in for a total of about 5 hours, before we got back on the Shinkansen and headed to Hiroshima. Exhausting I tell you, leaving our luggage in the station and running around trying to get everything done whilst making sure we dont miss our train...

Hiroshima - another hotel, the Peace Memorial & Museum - a sober reminder of what war does to people, and the best damn okonomiyaki in the world - Hirosahima's known for it!

Final destination before Tokyo - Atami, the city on a moutain. We hopped straight on a Shinkansen from Hiroshima and reunited with Rie (who was feeling better) at a ladies-only hotel with an onsen and an amazingly view.  We spend our entire time there soaking in hot baths and visiting this massive ladies spa with everything - it was so relaxing and much needed after the delirious week of travelling... Mmmmm bliss ~~~~
